Enjoy our virtual scrapbook of our day at Cupsogue Beach! Craig and Lori invited us to spend Fourth of July with them and the crew at Cupsogue Beach in Westhampton. Just driving down Dune Road was enough to be impressed, but the beach was beautiful and EMPTY! Nice.

Graduation!

Spencer had his graduation! Emotional, but not overly because most of the time I couldn't see a thing! He was all smiles, singing songs and flipping the thumbs up when he finally caught my eye! During a quiet moment it was his loud exclamation "I can see my Grandma!" that made the crowd laugh. There were so many thumbs ups that someone behind me asked if he was running for office. After the ceremony we went back for his class party. He got a little emotional and when I asked him later why he was upset he said he was going to miss his friends. No, not one kid in his class will accompany him to kindergarten in our district. They will all go their separate ways come August. I hope they remember each other 16 years down the road when they meet at a bar and relive the good old days of glitter glue and goldfish crackers.

Trying to get the hang of it!

Since I started this blog up, so many blog-worthy things have happened for Spencer and the family. First miniature golf game, first (and second) lost tooth! Mother's Day, Father's Day, Anniversary, birthdays, spring, summer, etc. But tomorrow is Spencer's Graduation from pre-school. While I am giddy (no more $700/month daycare payment), I am also saddened by the speed in which my son has grown up. I feel like I haven't enjoyed it as much as I should have or captured it in a way we'll enjoy it later (not enough video!). I'm sure we will look at the 1000s of still pictures for years to come, but video just captures the moments! Tomorrow, we'll be there, Michael and I, and hopefully we'll capture the event the way it should be captured...with a little bit of sadness, a lot of happiness and a whole lot of pride that our little man has finished the first stage of schooling....
